Hello, first of all. I'd just like to say before I begin critiquing that I think this piece is incredible. I really love it, and almost feel loathe to give it a proper critique- but I would love to see your obvious talent get even better, which is why I've decided to critique it. Keep in mind that I've had to look very hard at this picture to find things that need improving.

Lighting to give the impression of a fire is always hard, and I appreciate that you will have spent a fair deal of time doing highlights and shadows. However, I have noted a few potential issues with it... The shadows of the lady, the cat and the coffee table are all a bit different, as if there's more than one light source. The lady's shadow goes off to the left, whereas the cat and table's shadows go off to the right. As much as fire can have different ways of casting shadows, generally the differences in shadow casting aren't that big when the objects are so close together. I recommend that you place shadows in a generally similar direction when using fire, as it makes it seem more like a single light source. Similarly, the bookshelves could do with being a lot darker, as they are set quite a ways behind the fireplace.
-------- Rating breakdown --------
Vision- A lovely piece with a lot of character- the small additions of vases and moving clocks give it a very real and cosy feel. 5 stars.
Originality- The lady and the cat seem very original indeed- you've stated that the lady is your OC, so you can hardly say it isn't original! 5 stars.
Technique- Mostly incredible, a few very minor lighting issues. 4.5 stars.
Impact- A very visually engaging piece, it drew me into clicking it very easily. I think it could be even more interesting if the lady and the cat were doing poses to suggest that they weren't looking at an "audience", if the lady was, say, reading, to give it a realistic feel. 4.5 stars. ------------
Once again, very well done- do let me know if you feel that anything I said is incorrect, and what you think of my critique. All the comments are just to help you improve.. ^_^

Beautiful work! Lovely work of the medium (I'm guessing watercolours?) and your OC is really pretty! Love her portrait too over the fireplace. Speaking of which, the lighting in this is REALLY good. You're very talented!
Aww, this is such a sweet illustration. I love the colors, and the textures you worked into this. And the contented kitty (I am all about kitties, since I am owned by 5). The lighting is so well done! This is a very warm and inviting image. Congrats on the DD!
I think the use of muted colours in the background was executed amazingly and really makes the foreground come alive. The fireplace is warm and is a good choice in this setting as it brings warmth in contrast to the cooler areas of the piece. And the lighting is incredible. Congrats on the DD very well deserved.
